Code of Conduct
For Counsellor Certification & Training Candidates

Purpose
This Code of Conduct outlines the ethical expectations and professional behavior standards for all candidates enrolled in WeLearn India’s Counsellor Certification and Training Programs. Adhering to this code is essential to ensure safe, credible, ethical, and student-centric counselling practices.
1. Professional Integrity
- Candidates must maintain honesty, transparency, and accuracy in all academic and counselling interactions.
- Information shared with peers, students, parents, or institutions must be truthful and verifiable.
- Plagiarism, data manipulation, or unethical academic practices are strictly prohibited.
2. Confidentiality
- All personal and sensitive information obtained during training or practice must remain strictly confidential.
- Disclosure is only permitted under legal requirements or when a client’s safety is at risk.
- Data handling must follow responsible and secure protection protocols.
3. Competence and Responsibility
- Candidates must provide services within their current level of training and competence.
- They are encouraged to engage in continuous professional learning.
- Any limitations in knowledge, skills, or capability must be disclosed to supervisors.
4. Ethical Practice
- Candidates must avoid misleading or unrealistic promises regarding admissions, scholarships, career outcomes, or test results.
- Advice must be based on accurate eligibility criteria, psychological wellbeing, and the individual’s best interest.
- Harmful practices, coercion, or judgmental communication are strictly not allowed.
5. Professional Boundaries
- Respectful and appropriate boundaries must be maintained with all clients, peers, trainers, and minors.
- Personal, emotional, financial, or romantic involvement in professional interactions must be avoided.
- Conflicts of interest must be disclosed promptly.
6. Respect and Inclusivity
- Candidates must demonstrate equity and respect toward all individuals, regardless of: gender, background, identity, religion, nationality, disability, or socioeconomic status.
- Discrimination, harassment, or prejudice is strictly prohibited.
7. Transparency of Services
- Any services offered under supervision must communicate clear expectations.
- Hidden costs, exaggerated claims, or misrepresentation of WeLearn India’s programs are not permitted.
8. Accountability and Supervision
- Candidates are responsible for their actions, decisions, and communication during training.
- Ethical concerns or boundary violations must be reported immediately to supervising authorities.
- Candidates must accept and implement feedback provided by supervisors or instructors.
9. Wellbeing and Self-Care
- Candidates must monitor their mental and emotional wellbeing.
- When experiencing challenges affecting safe practice, they must seek guidance or pause client interaction under supervision.
